Baltimore Orioles’ Jeremy Guthrie and Chicago Cubs General Manager Jim Hendry highlight the speakers at the XXIV Coach Convention of the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) in Perugia from January 23 to 25. The organizers held a press conference on Friday to announce that about 500 people will attend the clinic next week.
Besides Guthrie, Hendry and Ron Maestri, the former Major League manager and bench coach of Team Italy at the World Baseball Classic Tom Trebelhorn will also speak on behalf of Baseball. Mike Piazza cannot come due to personal reasons. He will serve as the hitting coach of Italy at the Classic. Mike White and Vicky Rogers are going to hold seminars for the Softball interested audience. National team head coaches Marco Mazzieri and Marina Centrone are also on hand.
