WBSC, Asics reveal Logo, Jersey for Team “Europe”

JpegTOKYO, Japan – The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), the world governing body for the sports, today unveiled the official logo and look of the newly established “Europe” continental baseball team that is set to make its historic debut on 10-11 March at the Tokyo Dome against the top ranked Japanese National Team.

Asics is the official apparel sponsor of Team Europe that is incorporating its innovative technology to produce Europe’s lightweight, refined game jersey that prioritizes style, superior comfort and high performance.

While the ultra-breathable jersey applies cutting-edge technology and displays a “cold stripe mesh”, Europe’s official emblem makes use of a “classic baseball script”, in blue, which is outlined in a grey accent for the both white ‘home’ jerseys and the blue game cap. Europe’s emblem is outlined in white for the grey ‘road’ jerseys.

Each member of Team Europe has his own country flag displayed on the upper-right arm of the jersey. Seven national flags are represented within Europe’s current delegation of players and coaching staff: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

Europe’s official game footwear is a polished white cleat, with the distinctive pair of crossed stripes (blue) that represent Asics’s visual brand identity.

Asics will also be supplying Europe with the official game helmet, in addition to bats and batting gloves.

Eurosport 2 will be transmitting the Europe vs. Japan Series ‘live’ across its platforms that reach up to 73 million households in 18 languages across 51 countries
