Caribbean Series 2015: Dominican Republic, Mexico prevail on Tuesday

Posted on February 4, 2015February 5, 2015 by philipp

Day two at the Caribbean Series 2015 saw the Dominican Republic and Mexico celebrating wins. The Dominicans entered the tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico with a 6-1 win over Cuba. Four runs in the sixth turned a close game into a lopsided result. Willy Garcia went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Rafael Perez threw 5 1/3 scoreless six-hit innings for the win. Norge Ruiz got charged with the loss.

The evening game was more thrilling. Mexico prevailed 3-2 over Puerto Rico to improve to 2-0. A sac fly by Maxwell Leon in the bottom of the seventh broke the 2-2 tie and decided the outcome. Enrique Hernandez homered for Puerto Rico. Juan Delgadillo picked up the win in relief. He threw four solid innings even though he gave up the home run to Hernandez. Nelvin Fuentes took the loss.
