Perth Heat book ticket to ABL Championship Series

Posted on January 31, 2015 by philipp

The Perth Heat downed the Sydney Blue Sox 9-2 on Saturday to reach the championship series in the Australian Baseball League. They will face the Adelaide Bite next weekend. After a comeback win on Friday Perth built up a quick 4-0 lead through three innings en route to the win. Tim Kennelly and Rene Tosoni combined for four RBI. David Kandilas drove in both runs for Sydney. Scott Mitchinson picked up the win in relief of starter Warwick Saupold, who pitched in and out of trouble through 4 1/3 scoreless frames. Luke Wilkins took the loss. German right-hander Markus Solbach, who played for the Blue Sox this season, was slated to start game three of the series if necessary.
