The French Division I club Paris UC has a new head coach. Jamel Boutagra returns to his former club, where he played during the 90ies in the so-called “Yoshida Years”. He also coached in the Division I with Stade Toulousain and the Templiers Senart. Additionally he collected experience as a coach and player with the Hanshin Tigers in Japan. Boutagra replaces Kieran Mattison. The American received a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, where he will be a pitcher and a bench coach in the farm system. PUC had previously reported this offseason that he returns to the club. But then the Pirates knocked on his door.
