Amsterdam Pirates completes East Division of Collegiate Baseball League Europe

Amsterdam Pirates Baseball will be the 3rd host of the newly formed East Division of Collegiate Baseball League Europe (CBLE).

Amsterdam Pirates, represented by secretary Kerstin Anthoni, is one of the biggest and best organized baseball clubs in Europe. Its beautiful ballpark with indoor training facilities, a great clubhouse, 2 full size baseball fields and 2 softball fields, belongs to the best in Europe. Amsterdam Pirates’ flagship L&D Amsterdam is a yearly competitor for the European Championship title.

Pirates’ hometown Amsterdam, is the capital of the Netherlands and its historical canals and museums with paintings of Rembrandt, van Gogh, Vermeer and Hals are World famous. Together with the other East Division host cities Vienna and Prague, Amsterdam will offer our players and staff a great off-field experience.

Following the addition of Amsterdam to our schedule, CBLE’s Bombers team will be renamed Amsterdam Bombers. The Amsterdam Bombers will face Vienna Emperors and Praha Dragons.

After the series in Vienna (July 8-10), Prague (July 12-14) and Amsterdam (July 16-18), the teams will travell to Oosterhout to meet with the West Division teams La Rochelle Admirals, Sant Boi Falcons of Barcelona and London Cavaliers. Between July 19 and July 24, CBLE’ s hometown Oosterhout will host the All Star game between the best players of the East and West Division , the play-off games and the Championship game to end the season.

Collegiate Baseball League Europe

Collegiate Baseball League Europe (CBLE) is the first and only wood bat summer league in the “Old World”. Founded in 2012, the league currently consists of 6 teams; La Rochelle Admirals, Amsterdam Bombers, London Cavaliers, Sant Boi Falcons of Barcelona, Praha Dragons and Vienna Emperors. The inaugural tournament was held in July 2012 and all games were played at Sportpark De Slotbosse Toren in CBLE’s hometown Oosterhout (NLD). In 2015, an East Division will be added to the league with London (GBR), Sant Boi Barcelona (ESP), La Rochelle (FRA) forming the West Division and Vienna (AUT), Prague (CZE) and Amsterdam (NLD) becoming the East Division. The Playoffs week and Championship Game will be played in CBLE’s hometown Oosterhout . CBLE offers talented young players an exciting baseball experience while traveling to some of the most beautiful places in Europe and therewith establishing itself as the premier development league in Europe.
