Vienna Wanderers, represented by Caroline Meriaux, Roland Hörmann and Johannes Godler, informed Collegiate Baseball League Europe that they are pleased to join the league as a host city for its East Division teams. The addition of Vienna is a great development for CBLE, since this beautiful city will add to the attractiveness of our still growing organization.

The Vienna Wanderers homefield, Ballpark Spenadlwiese, will also host the European Championship Qualifier 2015. CBLE’s search for quality ballparks near popular cities already resulted in the addition of Prague to the new founded East Division.

CBLE’s latest expansion team will be named Vienna Emperors. CBLE players and coaches will provide youth clinics during their stay in Vienna. The East Division will play the first round of its schedule in Vienna from July 8 to 10 before travelling to Prague for the second round. The East Division teams will meet the West Division teams from July 19 to 23 in Oosterhout, to determine which teams will play the Championship Game on July 24.

CBLE

Collegiate Baseball League Europe (CBLE) is the first and only wood bat summer league in the “Old World”. Founded in 2012, the league currently consists of 6 teams; La Rochelle Admirals, Amsterdam Bombers, London Cavaliers, Sant Boi Falcons of Barcelona, Praha Dragons and Vienna Emperors. The inaugural tournament was held in July 2012 and all games were played at Sportpark De Slotbosse Toren in CBLE’s hometown Oosterhout (NLD). In 2015, an East Division will be added to the league with London (GBR), Sant Boi Barcelona (ESP), La Rochelle (FRA) forming the West Division and Vienna (AUT), Prague (CZE) and Amsterdam (NLD) becoming the East Division. The Playoffs week and Championship Game will be played in CBLE’s hometown Oosterhout . CBLE offers talented young players an exciting baseball experience while traveling to some of the most beautiful places in Europe and therewith establishing itself as the premier development league in Europe.
