Posted on November 21, 2014 by philipp

The Australian Baseball League continued on Friday with three games. The Adelaide Bite used an early 5-0 lead after home runs by Stefan Welch and Angus Roeger on route to a 6-5 win over the Brisbane Bandits. Granden Goetzman made things interesting with a solo home run in the ninth, but the Bandits couldn’t transform a pair of two-out walks into the tying run.

The Melbourne Aces edged out the Sydney Blue Sox 4-2. Three runs in the third got them up in front. Sydney ended the shutout bid with a pair of runs in the seventh and eighth, but wasn’t able to complete the comeback. Cody Buckel dominated with 12 strikeouts in seven innings, allowing just four hits, an unearned run and a walk. Craig Anderson got charged with the loss.

The Canberra Cavalry scored five runs in the first and didn’t stop there to down the Perth Heat 9-4. Alex Hudak, Adam Silva and Robbie Perkins combined for six RBI. Tim Atherton collected eight strikeouts in five innings to earn the win. Wayne Ough pitched three rocky inning to get a hold. Daniel Schmidt issued eight runs on nine hits and two walks in four-plus innings to take the loss.
