The Israel Association of Baseball serves about 800 boys, girls and adults through its teams, camps and clinics. Based in Tel Aviv, the IAB works throughout Israel to promote baseball. One of IAB’s biggest challenges is that Israel has very few baseball fields. Often, players practice on basketball courts or soccer fields. Throughout its programs, the IAB emphasizes fun and teamwork through baseball.
In March 2015, the IAB and Play Global will launch a program together, called Baseball Li’Kulam. Says IAB National Director Nate Fish, “Baseball Li’Kulam means “Baseball for All”, and will be the first program we’ve had in my time as National Director that aims specifically to bring Arab and Jewish kids together. We have a great group of people including baseball coaches from Play Global and the IAB, and educators from the Jewish Israeli and Arab Israeli communtiies. The kids will play together, eat together, talk together, and hopefully forming lasting friendships. We hope to run Baseball Li’Kulam three times a year.”
