Posted on November 9, 2014 by philipp

The Brisbane Bandits completed a series win over the Melbourne Aces with a 5-4 extra inning win on Sunday. A RBI single by Joshua Roberts in the top of the 11th frame made the difference in the game. Granden Goetzman hit a solo home run for the Bandits. Melbourne had tied the contest in the ninth to force bonus baseball. Josh Davies picked up two RBI.

The Sydney Blue Sox also prevailed in their series against the Canberra Cavalry. On Sunday they celebrated a 7-5 victory. A run in the fourth broke a 3-3 tie, three more runs in the seventh blew the score open. After Canberra cut the deficit to two runs in the eighth, German right-hander Markus Solbach came in and closed it out with 1 1/3 innings of perfect relief. He earned the save on Sunday after getting the win on Thursday pitching seven scoreless innings.
