The Therwil Flyers have won the 2014 championship in the Swiss Nationalliga A. The team of head coach Andy Fleischacker defeated the Zurich Barracudas in a dramatic final series, claiming the championship trophy with an 8-7 win in game five of the series on Saturday. In the ninth inning Takanobu Oshima came through with a two-run single to tie the game and to send it into extra innings. Two runs in the top of the 11th on RBI singles by Hide Oshima and Jose Rodriguez then crowned the Flyers to new Swiss champions.
