Rhibo La Loggia has won the Italian Softball Championship 2014. They defeated Specciasol Bussolengo 3-1 in the best-of-five Italian Softball Series. After winning the first two games last weekend, Bussolengo avoided the sweep with a 5-0 shutout in game three. But a 10-5 victory in the fourth match of the series clinched the title for La Loggia.
After losing game three 0-5 due to stellar pitching of Alice Ronchetti and a grand slam by Giulia Villirillo in a five-run third, La Loggia also trailed 0-5 after three frames in game four. But a four-run fifth got them back into the contest and a four-run sixth put them into control. Stella Turazzi and Giorgia Necco combined for five RBI. Elisa Brandino and Turazzi kept Bussolengo hitlest in the last 4 2/3 innings.
