Hoofdklasse: Home Wins on Thursday evening

Posted on July 4, 2014 by philipp

In the Dutch Hoofdklasse all four home teams celebrated victories. Remco Draijer and Bas de Jong had three RBI apiece in an 8-3 victory of L&D Amsterdam over the ADO Lakers. Rob Cordemans struck out nine in seven innings for the win.

Corendon Kinheim needed an extra inning to prevail 5-4 against Mr. Cocker HCAW. HCAW had opened the tenth with two runs, but Kinheim used the IBAF Extra-Inning rule better, plating three in the bottom half of the frame. Jeffrey Arends had the big hit with a three-run triple.

DOOR Neptunus earned its tenth win in as many games in the second phase of the Hoofdklasse with a 13-0 shutout over Mampaey The Hawks. 12 of the 13 runs were scored between the fourth and the sixth innings. Raily Legito homered and drove in four. Will Dismukes struck out 12 in seven innings.

The Vaessen Pioniers crushed UVV 16-2 in seven innings. They scored eight runs in the second and five in the sixth to blow things wide open. Vince Rooi hit a three-run home run and collected four RBI. Dirk van’t Klooster went 1-for-4 with a triple and is nine away from the all-time hits record in the Netherlands.
