Posted on June 20, 2014June 21, 2014 by philipp

At the European Cups in Brno and Hoofddorp the first round will end on Saturday. The first teams already have clinched the finals on Sunday.

In Brno DOOR Neptunus won its four game in as many days and clinched the finals. They crushed Rimini 17-3 behind a nine-run first and a six-run sixth. Raily Legito went deep and led four players with three RBI. Orlando Yntema issued just a hit, an unearned run and three walks in five innings. In the second game the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg crushed KNTU Elizavetgrad 15-0 in six innings. Chris Howard collected four hits. Justin Kuehn struck out seven in six scoreless two-hit innings. In the evening match the Templiers Senart celebrated a 3-1 victory over host Draci Brno. Ciro Silvino struck out 14 in a complete game. Raudelin Legra drove in two. Tomas Polansky homered for Draci.

In Hoofddorp the Vaessen Pioniers have reached the final. They defeated the Solingen Alligators 11-4 in the evening game. They already led 5-1, when the Pioniers added five runs in the sixth. Mark Jan Moorman and Kevin Dirksen went deep. Dustin Hughes had a pair of doubles and three RBI for Solingen. Earlier in the day the new Park21 ballpark saw the Rouen Huskies edging out Kotlarka Prague 11-10 after scoring three runs in the top of the ninth. Rouen led 8-1, blew the advantage and then Praha couldn’t hold on to a 10-8 lead in the last frame. Jakub Sladek hit a home run for Kotlarka. At the same time Luca Martignoni faced one batter over the minimum in a 12-0 shutout of T&A San Marino against Nettuno. Just a Carlos Pezzullo double in the second denied the no-hit bid. Jairo Ramos hit another home run and had three RBI. Luca Pulzetti collected three RBI as well.
