Interesting development in the Netherlands. KNBSB’s Technical Director Robert Eenhoorn has accepted [Update:] is on the verge of becoming the new general director for the first-division soccer club Alkmaar. They just had signed Marco van Basten as head coach and are expected to add Alex Pastor as assistant coach. Alkmaar has a reputation of looking outside the box, already having Teun de Nooijer (field hockey) and Joop Alberda (volley ball) on the technical staff. Eenhoorn replaces Toon Gerbrands at Alkmaar, who is leaving for PSV Eindhoven.
[Update:] An earlier version indicated that Robert Eenhoorn already has agreed on a contract with Alkmaar. But the negotiations are in fact still ongoing.
