Grosseto adds Carlos Richetti, six others for 2014 Season in IBL

Posted on January 31, 2014January 31, 2014 by philipp

Right-hander Carlos Richetti is joining Grosseto (Mastiff) for the 2014 season in the Italian Baseball League, as a newspaper in Tuscany reports on Friday. Mastiff president Danilo Biagioli confirmed the transfer in the report. Richetti has pitched for Bologna and Nettuno in Italy. The 30-year-old Dominican has been in Italy since 2002 and therefore doesn’t occupy a foreign player spot.

Additionally according to FIBS.it outfielder Ennio Retrosi, pitcher Andrea Pizziconi, slugger Rolexis Molina, infielder Andrea Sgnaolin, outfielder Gabriele Ermini and catcher/first baseman Luca Bischeri are expected to play for Grosseto in 2014. Ace Angel Marquez is supposedly coming back for a second season.

In the front office, after their latest general manager stepped down, Luca Moretti and Moreno Funzione are in contention to be named new GM by Biagioli.
