Former MLB Catcher Guillermo Rodriguez joins Unipol Bologna

Former Major League catcher Guillermo Rodriguez is joining Unipol Bologna for the 2014 season in the Italian Baseball League. The 35-year-old Venezuelan appeared in 46 games in the big leagues for the San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles in 2007 and 2009. In 2012 he played in Mexico. Overall he looks back on 15 seasons in professional baseball in North America. In recent years he mainly played in the Caribbean Winter Leagues. He is expected to arrive in Italy in mid-March and will split time with Marco Sabbatani behind the plate.
