According to the club website the Stuttgart Reds have found an impressive replacement for the Australian Richard Olson. 26-year-old Florida native Charley Olson will join the team for the upcoming 2014 season in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. The right-hander is coming from the Bonn Capitals, which already had revealed his departure a couple of days ago.
Olson is going to pitch in game two each week. He had an 8-2 record with an ERA of 1.87 in 13 starts in the northern division last year, his second in Germany. He struck out 103 and walked 23 in 81 2/3 innings. Meanwhile the Reds also confirmed that Sascha Lutz (Heidenheim Heidekoepfe) and Chris Beck (USA) won’t return.
