On Thursday the ORKAS lost 0-1 against the Liga Paralela leader CARIBES. Anderson Chourio drove in the decisive run with a single in the top of the eighth. The ALB out-hit their opponents 8-4, but failed to bring a runner home. Jose Aponte impressed with a four-for-four performance, including a double. David Rivas and Emilio Linarez each had two hits for the ORKAS.

Kevin Alarcon dominated over six innings, giving up just a hit and two walks. He struck out five. Fidel Velasquez (L 0-1) relieved Alarcon and took the loss. The CARBIES pitchers allowed eight hits, but walked none. Jose Alvarez (W 2-0) picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief.

The ORKAS offense exploded on Friday and helped overcoming a 2-6-deficit in a 14-7 victory against the METS. NEW YORK took the lead through a six-run fourth. But the European club reduced the gap to a run in the fifth and decided the outcome in the sixth, when they brought five runs on the board. Four runs in the eighth broke the game wide open.

Gabriel Montero (1-2, 2 runs, 3 BB) hit his seventh homerun of the season, driving in three runs. Jose Aponte (1-2, 2 BB, 2 runs), Ricky Thomas (2-4, 2 2B) and Antonio Hernandez (1-1, 2 runs) each had two RBI. Twelve different batters got hits.

Steven van Groningen received the starting nod for the ORKAS and allowed six hits, five runs (4 ER) and two walks in 3 1/3 innings. Brian Sewell relieved him with the bases loaded, but all three runners scored, before he was able to stop the METS rally. Jurjen Van Zijl (W 3-1) replaced Sewell in the fifth inning and was awarded with the win. In two frames he conceded one run on three hits, while striking out two. Shane Gnade gave up a walk in a scoreless seventh. Wilmer Alvarez struck out three in the remaining two periods to close out the game.
