German outfielder/first baseman Donald Lutz of the Cincinnati Reds, who made his MLB debut this year as first Germany developed player in the history, is going to play winter ball in Mexico. The 24-year-old power hitter is on his way to join Yaquis de Obregon. They are playing in the Liga Mexiana del Pacifico. The team is managed by Eddy Diaz. The biggest name on the roster is currently former Major Leaguer Karim Garcia. Lutz will be the second German player in the last couple of years to take his talents to a Winter League after Kai Gronauer adventured the Panamanian Winter League in 2011.
