Austrian Baseball League: Wanderers defend Title after Game 7 Shutout

The Vienna Wanderers have defended the title in the Austrian Baseball League. After tying the Austrian finals against the Vienna Metrostars with a 5-3 victory on Saturday, they won it one day later with a 1-0 shutout. Christian Tomsich allowed just four hits in a nine-inning complete game win. They lone run was scored in the fourth, when Max Scholdan tripled to lead off the frame and then crossed the plate through Andrew Oberthaler’s single. Jakob Simonsen took the hard-luck loss, giving up eight hits, a run and a walk in eight innings.
