Czech Extraleague: Draci Brno, Kotlarka Prague split first two games of finals

In the Czech Extraleague Draci Brno and Kotlarka Prague split the first two games of the finals. On Saturday Draci prevailed 2-1. Zachary Samuels struck out ten in eight innings, while allowing just five hits, a run and a walk. Radim Chroust closed it out. Michael Kremlacek and Martin Schneider scored the two Brno runs on an error at short in the bottom of the seventh. Prague countered with a RBI single by Russ Brebner in the eighth, but wasn’t able to come back. Marek Cervenka took the loss.

In the second game on Sunday Kotlarka scored five runs in the top of the sixth to down Draci 9-5. Martin Cervenka drove in two. Charles Magedanz and Brebner scored twice. Jason Daniels, who had given up eight hits, five runs and two walks, combined with Jan Blazek to shut Draci down in the last four innings. Schneider homered for Brno. Tomas Polansky collected three hits. Jank Vasourek got charged the loss.
