Austrian Baseball League: Vienna Wanderers, Vienna Metrostars reach Finals

A Vienna derby will be played in the Austrian Baseball League finals. Defending champion Vienna Wanderers defeated the Diving Ducks 4-1 in their best-of-seven semi-finals. On Saturday they split games three and four. The Wanderers then edged out the Diving Ducks 13-12 one day later. The Vienna Metrostars had split the first two games against the Dornbirn Indians, but won all three games this past weekend including a 23-3 blowout in game five on Sunday.

Diving Ducks – Wanderers 6-5
Diving Ducks – Wanderers 1-7
Metrostars – Dornbirn Indians 11-3
Metrostars – Dornbirn Indians 8-3
Sunday, September 8, 2013:
Diving Ducks – Wanderers 12-13 (Wanderers win series 4-1)
Metrostars – Dornbirn Indians 23-3 (Metrostars win series 4-1)
