Ukraine – Netherlands 1-19 (4)
On the second day of the European U15 Championship in Nyköping the Netherlands crushed the Ukraine 19-1 in four innings. Six runs in the first two, six in the third and seven runs in the fourth inning lifted the Dutch to the win. Physon Antonia tripled twice and drove in five. Menno Lenting collected four runs. Daniel Neijndorff issued two hits, an unearned run and no walks in three innings for the win. Sergii Shoshu took the loss.
Lithuania – Czech Republic 8-22 (5)
The Czech Republic improved to 2-0 in the tournament with a 22-8 slugfest against Lithuania. The Czech squad scored 12 runs in the second inning alone. Radim Novotny highlighted the big rally with an inside the park grand slam home run. Lukas Trunkat drove in four. Pavel Sramek received the win after 2 1/3 innings of relief. Marius Balandis got charged with four hits, ten runs (9 ER) and six walks in 1 1/3 frames to take the loss.
Slovakia – Germany 1-11 (5)
Germany scored four runs in the first and six in the fourth in an 11-1 victory over Slovakia on Wednesday. Nadir Ljatifi tripled and collected three RBI. Daniel Mendelsohn pitched three scoreless for the win helped his own cause with three RBI at the plate. Andrej Marhavny didn’t register a single out in the first, getting charged with four runs and the loss.
Sweden – Russia 1-12
Russia scored eight runs in the second of a 12-1 win over host Sweden in the evening game. Russia’s pitchers issued only a run on two walks and no hits with Denis Ladoshkin picking up the win. Starter Anton Kuznetsov also had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an inside the park home run, three runs scored and four RBI. Max Hill allowed five hits, nine runs (4 ER) and four bb in 1 1/3 frames to take the loss.
