Catching Up: Blagoevgrad Buffaloes remain Bulgarian Champion

Posted on November 11, 2008 by philipp

In the upcoming days we are trying to catch up with the leagues in European Baseball and Softball, we were not covering during the summer. We are going to give you an overview about the championship, hopefully from every country in Europe. You can also send us (news@mister-baseball.com) a report about your league and we’ll try to publish it.

The BLAGOEVGRAD BUFFALOES won the fourth consecutive Bulgarian Championship and the 15th in team history a few weeks ago. They defeated the SOFIA ATHLETICS 3-1 in the best-of-five championship series. The A’s smelled an upset, when they won game one 5-3, but the BUFFALOES came back. They tied the series with a 6-0 shutout, before taking the lead with a 7-4 victory. A 9-6 in game four clinched the title for the fourth-place finisher at the European Cup Qualifier in Blagoevgrad.

Results Finals:
Blagoevgrad Buffaloes – Sofia Athletics 3-1 (3-5, 6-0, 7-4, 9-6)
