In the Dutch Hoofdklasse three games were played on Thursday. We saw the first tie of the 2013 season between Mr. Cocker HCAW and the Vaessen Pioniers due to the curfew rule. The Pioniers twice took the lead, but HCAW always was able to answer and even the score, the last time on a bases loaded walk in the eighth. Josh Rickards pitched 6 2/3 innings of solid relief. Sander Helmendach issued two runs on six hits in 6 2/3 frames.
DOOR Neptunus shut out UVV 2-0. Diegomar Markwell allowed only five hits and a walk in eight scoreless innings to lead the way. Jurjen van Zijl gave up two runs in the first of his seven innings of strong work. Raily Legito and Dwayne Kemp drove in both runs.
In the third matchup the Mampaey The Hawks curshed the ADO Lakers 19-8 in six innings. The Hawks scored five runs in the fifth and nine in the sixth to blow the game wide open. Both teams combined for 11 errors in the wild contest. Urving Kemp had four RBI. Bob de Bruijn scored four runs. Odion Gouverneur crossed the plate three times for the ADO Lakers.
