Baseball-Bundesliga: Paderborn crushes Berlin

Posted on May 19, 2013 by philipp

The Untouchables Paderborn had once again no mercy with the Berlin Sluggers. In the only doubleheader played in the German Baseball-Bundesliga on Saturday they celebrated 23-1 and 12-2 wins.

Octavio Medina hit a home run in game one and collected a combined 10 RBI on the afternoon. Matt Martin went deep as well. Bjoern Schonlau had five RBI in the second match. Harry Glynne and Taylor Swift earned the wins.

Berlin was able to keep game two somewhat close, erasing an early 0-2 deficit keeping a 2-2 tie until midway of the fifth. But nine runs in the sixth and seventh ended the game early due to ten-run rule. The U’s scored 15 runs in the fifth of game one.

On Monday the Tubingen Hawks and the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe will make up a rained out doubleheader from opening day.
