Reigning champion Rouen Huskies has a perfect start into the 2013 season. Six games, six wins. This past weekend Rouen faced the Savigny Lions and beat them 13-4 and 11-1.
In game one Savigny even had the better start. They scored three runs in the first two innings and kept the score to 3-3 after four. However the Huskies took the lead, added seven runs in the last two innings en route to a 13-4 victory. Boris Marche went 4-for-6 for Rouen. Florian Peyrichou was 4-for-4 for Savigny.
Game two saw the combination of Jose Rodriguez and Keino Perez throwing only 65 pitches in seven innings to lead Rouen to an 11-1 win. Rodriguez made his debut for the French champion by throwing five jet-lagged influenced one-hit innings. Joris Bert was 4-for-5 for the Huskies. Oscar Combes highlighted a four-run first with a bases clearing double.
In the other matchup in the French Division I, the Rouen Baseball Academy split two games against the Toulouse Tigers. Paris UC lost twice to the Montpellier Barracudas. The Templiers Senart swept the Beaucaire Chevaliers.
