Results Spanish Division de Honor April 6&7

The Spanish Division de Honor played its third game day this weekend. Eight games were on the schedule, six got played, as the matchup between the Astros Valencia and the Tenerife Marlins got postponed due to rain.

In the matchups, which were played, only CBS Sant Boi was able to celebrate a sweep. 10-0 and 14-1 were the scores in their two games against El Llano. In game one veteran Marc Carrillo went 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and five RBI. Daniel Martinez scored four times. Baudilio Lopez struck out 17 in eight scoreless one-hit innings for his first win of the season. In the second match Marc Carrillo added another home run and four RBI to lead his team. William Domero also connected for a homer. Daniel Matias pitched 6 2/3 strong innings for the win.

Also in Barcelona CB Viladecans split two games versus Baseball Navarra. Navarra prevailed 4-2 on Saturday evening. Hector Perozo drove in two of the four runs and also pitched two innings to close the victory out for the save. Ely Izturriaga got the starting nod for the guests. He issued just one hit, one run and four walks in seven frames, while striking out 15. In the second game Viladecans scored in each of the first five innings, highlighted by a five-run fourth. They won 11-6. Rogelio Armenteros struck out four in 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. Carlos Gonzalez drove in five at the plate.

Defending champion CB Barcelona was on the road this weekend. At San Inazio Bilbao the team of manager Jorge Miqueleiz had to settle for the split. In game one Bilbao scored twice in the bottom of the eighth to prevail 4-3. Jose Morales and former Barcelona player Rafael Llames delivered the big blows with RBI doubles. Juan Jose Lopez and Remigio Leal combined to throw 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to out-pitch Ricardo Hernandez and Oscar Jimenez. In the second game Barcelona scored five runs in the second en route to a 12-4 blowout. Oscar Angulo and Jesus Golindano had three hits and three RBI each. Yasunomori Sugita reached base five times to score thrice. Jorge Balboa earned the win over national team teammate Remigio Leal.
