Italian corner infielder Alex Liddi is going to start the 2013 season in Triple-A. He batted just .100/.095/.250 in seven games with the Seattle Mariners in Spring Training this year and additionally missed time in training camp due to playing for Italy in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. In the WBC the 24-year-old batted .235/.364/.235 in five games.
Liddi made the opening day roster for the Mariners in 2012 and hit .224/.278/.353 with three home runs, eight runs and ten RBI in 38 games during the regular season. He was sent down to Triple-A between June 14 and September 3, where he had a batting line of .270/.325/.456 with 11 home runs, 39 runs and 30 RBI in 76 games.
