The Italian Baseball League club Novara has added veteran right-hander Franklyn Torres to the pitching staff for the 2013 season. The 40-year-old has been playing in Italy for the last decade, mostly in Sicily. In 2012 he took the mound for Messina, where he went 9-7 with an ERA of 3.71in 123 2/3 innings. He struck out 81 and walked 21. Born in the Dominican Republic he has an Italian passport and played for Italy in the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
