The programme
BBF Coaches Commissioner Rob Rance and BSUK NDM Will Lintern wanted to build on the success of last year’s clinic in designing the programme. Whereas last year focused almost exclusively on pitching, catching and hitting, the 2013 clinic will be designed to present coaches with a more well-rounded approach to developing players and with a new selection of skills and drills.
Attending coaches will get a chance to work with each of the skilled clinicians in the following areas: playing catch the right way, pitching, catching, hitting, infield and outfield.
BBF Coaches Commissioner Rob Rance said: “The goal is to send coaches away with as much knowledge and confidence as possible, building on what was covered last year, plus ensuring that coaches have a better understanding of how they can implement these skills in their own practices. Personally, I am really excited about the quality of clinicians we have this year. In particular, I think Tom [Gillespie] and Mac [Brian McCarthy] will bring some new ideas to the room that will really resonate with British club coaches.”
