Australia, Japan square off in WBC Warm-Ups

Australia and Japan will face each other in a two-game series in Osaka, Japan prior to the first round at the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Thanks to an agreement between NPB and ABL the exhibitions on February 24 and 25 will be played at the Osaka Dome and will be televised live in Japan. Australia will play four additional warm-up matches in Taiwan. They are opening training camp in Taichung, Taiwan on February 17. In the first round of the WBC Australia faces reigning World Champion Netherlands, Olympic Champion Korea and Chinese Taipei in Taichung. Games start on March 2. Japan takes on Cuba, China and Brazil in first-round action in Fukuoka, Japan.
