Media applications for the 2013 World Baseball Classic are available online at http://credentials.mlb.com. All applications must be submitted online by Friday, February 15th. Applications will not be accepted after this deadline.
Media wishing to apply for credentials for first and second round games being played in Fukuoka and Tokyo, Japan should apply at https://idweb.val.co.jp/wbc_press_2013.
The 2013 World Baseball Classic, which is the third edition of the tournament, will feature the world’s best players representing their countries and territories. Thirty-nine games will be played in seven venues in four nations and territories from March 2nd – March 19th, 2013.
The four Round One pools are scheduled to be played in Fukuoka, Japan; Taichung, Taiwan; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona. Round Two will feature two pools of four teams each and is scheduled to be played in Tokyo and Miami, Florida.
The Semi-Finals and Final will be played at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California.
If you do not yet have a photo on file, your application must include a photo of each person applying for media credentials. Images must resemble a passport photo, and should be 1 inch by 1 inch in size. Every media outlet that has previously applied online for credentials to cover an MLB jewel event has been assigned a unique affiliate identification number.
All media outlets that have not previously applied online for media credentials for an MLB jewel event must contact MLB at (212) 931-7621 or via e-mail at credentials@mlb.com in order to obtain an assigned affiliate identification number for that organization.
