Bois Guillaume and Montigny le Bretonneux to battle for Elite League Spot

Posted on October 24, 2008October 24, 2008 by philipp

BOIS GUILLAUME and MONTIGNY LE BRETONNEUX meet this weekend in Montigny to play out the eighth spot in the 2009 Elite League in France. A best-of-three series will decide, which team gets the promotion. Both played each other four times this season, with each winning two games. In the semi-finals MONTIGNY beat ST. PRIEST in three games. BOIS GUILLAUME needed just two to advance through COMPIEGNE.

The first game of the eventual three is scheduled for Saturday at 15.00 CET, the other two take place on Sunday, starting at 11.00 CET. MONTIGNY is expected to bring G. Bilweiss as starter in game one. He threw seven shutout innings against SAINT PRIEST a week ago. S. Duchossoy and S. Karson started game two and three. M. Bouchard and T. Lewis each struck out seven in nine, respective seven innings to pick up wins against COMPIEGNE for BOIS GUILLAUME. Both should again receive the starting nods this weekend.

Lewis is also playing shortstop and hitting cleanup for BOIS GUILLAUME. Against COMPIEGNE he hit two homeruns and scored five of the 18 runs. MONTIGNY hopes for another five-RBI game by right fielder B. Belloy and needs production from their cleanup hitter first baseman C. Herard.
