The Italian Baseball League club Cariparma Parma confirmed on Tuesday that right-handed pitcher Marco Grifantini returns for the 2013 season. He accepted a contract with less money, as Parma has to reduce costs like other clubs as well. Hindered by an injury the flame thrower managed just ten appearances during the regular season last year, going 2-0 with two saves and an ERA of 2.01. He struck out 25 in 22 1/3 innings, walking nine. He is supposed to pitch out of relief, possibly following a starting Jose Sanchez.
