Cariparma Parma: Jose Sanchez coming back; Freddy Parejo coming?

Posted on January 19, 2013January 19, 2013 by philipp

According to reports from Baseball.it Cariparma Parma seems to have found a replacement for the departing Stefano Desimoni to patrol center field next season in the Italian Baseball League. The 28-year-old Freddy Parejo seems to be on the radar of the Angels. The Venezuelan spent eight seasons in professional baseball, playing as high as Triple-A for the Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros organizations. He batted .262/.308/.345 in 775 games. Additionally Parma has confirmed that Jose Sanchez returns for a second season. He made seven starts in 2012, going 5-2 with an ERA of 2.25. He struck out 34 in 44 innings, walking 11. The club also hopes that Marco Grifantini comes back for a fifth season with Cariparma, as they wouldn’t need a second foreign pitcher.
