Rivas Vaciamadrid gets chance to play in Division de Honor

Posted on January 8, 2013 by philipp

Having won the Primera Division in Spain, Rivas Vaciamadrid has earned the right to play in the Spanish Division de Honor next year. The Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation (RFEBS) has acknowledged this, as Rivas is one of ten teams, which need to submit paperwork to the federation for the 2013 season by January 18. Obviously Rivas has to meet certain requirements to get licensed for the top division in Spanish baseball. But with this development there is a chance that the Division de Honor will see ten teams this year even though Halcones de Vigo has withdrawn from competition.

Qualified Teams for Spanish Division de Honor 2013:

  • CB Barcelona
  • Astros Valencia
  • Tenerife Marlins
  • CB Viladecans
  • San Inazio Bilbao
  • CB Sant Boi
  • Baseball Navarra
  • CD Pamplona
  • El Llano
  • Rivas Vaciamadrid
