In preparations for the World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Taipei City from November 15 to 18, New Zealand is going to play two exhibition games against the Canberra Cavalry. With the Perth Heat representing the Australian Baseball League in the Asia Series, Canberra has an off weekend and can play against the Diamondblacks on Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10. New Zealand will play against Chinese Taipei, Thailand and the Philippines at the WBC Qualifier in Taipei. They try to become the second team from Oceania to reach the 2013 World Baseball Classic, as Australia is already qualified.
