Just a couple of days after winning the second championship with his Wesseling Vermins the German Baseball and Softball Federation (DBV) announced that Udo Dehmel will be the new head coach of the German Women’s Softball National Team. The 45-year-old will succeed Claudia Effenberg, who had resigned early this year. He will continue to coach the German Junior Girls National Team, with whom he had won the silver medal at the European Championships in 2010 and 2012. His first big tournament with the seniors is going to be the European Championship next July, which most likely will be held in Prague, Czech Republic.
