Recaps: Therwil Flyers even Series against Embrach Mustangs

After losing the first two games totThe Embrach Mustangs, the Therwil Flyers have all the momentum going into the deciding game of the Semi Finals with two lopsided wins this past weekend.

Game 3

Every starter reached base at least once as the Flyers pounded out 20 hits and 17 runs against Mustang pitching. The scoring began in the bottom of the third inning. Hide Oshima, Taka Oshima, Reto Siegel, and Daniel Eichenberger all collected hits in the 3^rd inning, with Daniel’s hit being his first of two home runs on the day. The Flyers proceeded to score nine runs in the following inning and put the game out of reach for the Mustangs. Lukas Croton and Stefan Koller combined to keep the Mustang’s bats in check throughout the game, limiting Embrach to only three runs.

Game 4

Game 4 was a complete turnaround from game 2, where Tim Jones completely dominated The Flyers. This go round it was a veritable Chris Blackbee show. Chris allowed 4 hits, 1 run, and struck out 6 batters in 8 innings of work, in which the Mustangs never really threatened. Hide Oshima came on in the 9^th to secure the win by pitching a 1-2-3 inning. Offensively, The Flyers scored early and often, scoring at least one run in 7 of the 9 innings played. Ty Eriksen led the team by going 3-5, with a double a stolen base and three runs scored.

The winner of game 5 this weekend will have the opportunity to take on the Bern Cardinals, who clinched their spot in the Finals with a sweep of the Zurich Challengers last weekend.
