Shawn Hill from WBC Qualifier into Big Leagues

Posted on September 26, 2012September 26, 2012 by philipp

On Thursday Shawn Hill pitched Canada to a win over Great Britain in the opener of the World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Regensburg. On Saturday he was the best man at a wedding. And now he is back in the big leagues. The right-hander received a text during the celebrations on Saturday that he has been called up to the Toronto Blue Jays from Triple-A Las Vegas for the remaining games of the 2012 season. It was so surprising that he left all of his baseball stuff in Germany with Team Canada, where he originally wanted to return for Monday’s final game. He watched the Maple Leafs’ triumph over Germany at the Armin-Wolf-Arena on his iPad from the Blue Jays clubhouse. For more about Shawn Hill’s incredible journey these days, check out the article in the National Post.
