Austrian Finals tied after two Games

Posted on September 28, 2008October 3, 2008 by philipp

The people in Kufstein saw two games dominated by pitching at the start of the Austrian Baseball League finals. In game one, Walter Strasser led the ATHLETICS to a 3-0 shutout, winning the pitcher’s duel against Werner Harasser. The team from ATTNANG-PUCHHEIM was the favorite before the finals, but the series got interesting in the second match, when Carter Clements allowed a third-inning run and the A’s lost 0-1 against the VIKINGS. Todd Fairbrother out-dueled Clements over six innings, before leaving with a knee injury. Bernhard Eidherr replaced him and picked up the save. The series resumes next weekend in Attnang for games three to five.
