Legionaere host Tornados for Game Five on Saturday

Posted on September 26, 2008September 26, 2008 by philipp

The German Baseball-Bundesliga season ends on Saturday, as the BUCHBINDER LEGIONAERE host the TORNADOS at the Armin Wolf Arena for the decisive fifth game in the final series. REGENSBURG won games one and three. MANNHEIM was victorious in the second and fourth.

If the guest team wants to win the championship for the first time since 1997 they need to find a way to score against Philipp Hoffschild, who emerged as the number one starter for the LEGIONAERE during the playoffs. In 38 2/3 innings he has allowed just four runs (2 ER, ERA 0.47) on 20 hits and nine walks, while striking out 37. His sixth win in the sixth game would lead to the first title for the Bavarian club. Paul Waterman is going to begin for the TORNADOS. He did a nice job in the postseason, but lost twice in the finals. In eight games (five starts) he has a 3-2 record with an ERA of 2.73 and twelve strikeouts (twelve walks) in 29 2/3 innings.

The game starts at 13:00 CET and a live stream is available at zaplive.tv, where you also can watch games three and four on demand.
