First National Coach Ball Tournament

Posted on September 23, 2008 by philipp

by Michal Hanus

A new event started during the weekend in Louny, which organized the first National Cup in Coach Ball for under 10-year-old. Eight teams were in the tournament: Krc Altron, Patriots Liberec, Pipas Brno, Trebic Nuclears, Draci Brno, Lokomotiva Louny, Kotlarka Praha and Technika Brno (tee ball champion 2008). The squads were divided into two groups, followed by a classification round to determine the final standings.

The first winner of the National Cup in Coach Ball is Draci Brno which beat Krc Altron 6-3 in the final game. The bronze medal went to Technika Brno, defeating their municipal rivals Pipas Brno 5-3. Fifth place remained in Louny which won 18-14 against Trebic Nuclears. Kotlarka Praha took seventh place against the Liberec Patriots.

The response to tournament was very positive, so we can expect the next National Cup Coach Ball to be played again in fall 2009, hopefully with more teams.
