For the first time the Spanish championship in the Division de Honor will be decided with a playoff series. Defending champion CB Barcelona and regular season winner Astros Valencia will meet in the best-of-five series. During the regular season the Astros prevailed in three of the four games and should be considered favorites in the series. The first two games will be played in Montjuic, before the series shifts to Valencia.
