Posted on July 19, 2012 by philipp

Telemarket Rimini – T&A San Marino 2-4 (10)

T&A San Marino defeated Telemarket Rimini 4-2 in ten innings on Wednesday, as the semi-final round in the Italian Baseball League started. RBI singles by Marco Yepez and Joe Mazzuca in the top of the first extra frame decided the outcome. One inning earlier Laidel Chapelli had tied the game with a RBI double. Rimini had led since the sixth. Darwin Cubilan struck out eight in 4 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win. Mark De Felice was charged with the loss.

Danesi Nettuno – Unipol Bologna 3-2

It was an exciting first day of the playoffs in the Italian Baseball League, as Danesi Nettuno walked off with a 3-2 victory over Unipol Bologna. A RBI fielder’s choice by Renato Imperiali in the bottom of the ninth plated the game winner. Leonardo De Donno homered for Bologna. Santo Hernandez and Juan Figueroa struck out a combined 16 batters for Nettuno. Felix Romero had replaced Jesus Matos in the sixth to take the loss.

The round robin continues on Friday.
