Italy – IBL All Stars 1-3
The Italian national team lost 1-3 at the all-star game of the Italian Baseball League on Saturday evening. The All-Stars were led by a three-run fourth inning, which saw Giuseppe Mazzanti, Rolexis Molina and Francesco Imperiali crossing the plate. Italy countered with a Jairo Ramos run in the bottom half of the same frame, but couldn’t score again later. Juan Figueroa picked up the win on the mound. Chris Cooper was charged with the loss. In difference to the big success of 2011, when 6,000 people saw the game at Steno Borghese Stadium in Nettuno, just an official attendance of 1,478 people were on hand on Grosseto.
