London Mets repeat as British Champion

Posted on September 10, 2008 by philipp

The LONDON METS defended their title in British Baseball last weekend, defeating the RICHMOND FLAMES 11-4 in the finals on Sunday for their second championship. Originally the finals were planned as a best-of-three series. However due to the bad field conditions after rain it was cut short to a single match over nine innings.

On Saturday the two southern conference teams fulfilled their role as favorites, beating the clubs from the north in the semi-finals. The METS crushed the MENWITH HILL PATRIOTS 15-1. The FLAMES won 10-3 versus the MANCHESTER EAGLES.

The METS dominated all season long, outscoring their opponents 239-53 during the regular season, losing just one of the 24 games.
