Templiers Senart clinch Berth for French Finals

Templiers Senart – Montpellier Barracudas 7-1, 13-3

Four game days are left in the French playoffs and the first team already has clinched the berth for the finals. The TEMPLIERS swept the two-game set versus MONTEPELLIER last weekend and is going to finish in the top two of the standings.

Savigny Lions – Rouen Huskies 3-14, 3-8

ROUEN solidified second place in the standings with two victories against SAVIGNY. In game one they took the lead in the sixth, when Keino Perez scored on an error. The HUSKIES scored eleven more runs in the following to blow the score wide open. Perez also picked up the win after a solid performance on the mound. LIONS starter Carlos Jiminian lasted four innings. Pierrick Lemestre took the loss in the 3-14 defeat.

ROUEN started into the second match like the first ended, when they scored five runs in the top of the first en route to an 8-3 win. Romain David cleared the bases with his hit to make it 3-0. Luc Piquet followed with a two-run double. Both teams scored afterwards, but SAVIGNY fell short to make up ground significantly. Mathieu Crescent received the win after five innings pitched. Fabien Proust also stayed five innings on the mound to take the loss.
